Founded by a veteran of the gun safety movement, SGV is committed to electing leaders who will work together to pass meaningful and achievable laws to prevent gun violence and strengthen public safety – such as widely supported reforms like safe storage and red flag laws – that responsible gun owners across the country already back.

“Every day, more than 125 people die from gun violence in America. It doesn’t have to be this way,” said SGV Board Chair Brian Lemek who founded the PAC and is the former executive director and founder of Brady PAC.
“The candidates we’re endorsing today, some of whom are gun owners themselves, are dedicated to putting the safety of American families first, above the demands of the corporate gun lobby to ensure our laws reflect the will of the people. They know that together we can save lives,” Lemek added.
Stop Gun Violence will support candidates through direct donations, fundraising assistance through its gun violence prevention network, message guidance and research, as well as on the ground and in-state campaign support. Its mission is simple: elect leaders committed to advancing widely supported, obtainable, and responsible reforms that will protect communities and strengthen public safety.
